UTA extends select services for New Year’s Eve

Wondering how to spend New Year’s Eve? Salt Lake City and Provo are hosting community celebrations filled with music, dancing, food and fun, and UTA is extending select services to help you enjoy them. As you travel, don’t forget to take advantage of UTA’s group pass. Until Jan. 1, you and five friends can ride UTA all day after 10 a.m. for just $15.

Please note that on New Year’s Day, UTA will offer ski bus service only. No regular bus or train service will be offered, except for the New Year’s Eve route extensions mentioned below. Ski bus service on route 880 to Sundance will not be offered.

EVE

EVE is taking over Salt Lake City, with fireworks, dancing, live music, local films, inflatable bounce houses, art exhibits, food and more at nine downtown venues. All TRAX lines will run on extended schedules to accommodate late-night holiday travelers. For full schedule information, please click here. Please note that although EVE events run from Sunday, Dec. 29, through Tuesday, Dec. 31, UTA is only extending its schedule on Dec. 31.

Countdown in Provo

The Countdown in Provo will take place at the Provo Towne Center Mall from 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 until midnight on Jan. 1. The Countdown features events and activities for the entire family, including fireworks shows at 9 p.m. and midnight, live music, a ski and snowboard rail jam, magic shows and face painting. To help riders connect from FrontRunner to the event, route 838 will run every 30 minutes from theProvo FrontRunner Station to the Provo Towne Center Mall, starting at 8:19 p.m. and ending at 12:37 a.m. The last FrontRunner train will depart Provo Station at 12:50 a.m. on January 1.
